Rome is the best place on earth to study abroad but if I ever move out of the U.S., I am moving to London. The people are, if possible, even nicer than the people from Amsterdam. Public transportation across the world is one of the most frustrating every-man-for-themselves type situations. Elbows being thrown, getting shoved, and potentially pick pocketed. In London, as soon as someone realizes they are in your way then take a huge step to the side, apologize, and throw on a big smile. When the cab drivers give you an estimate on how much the fare will be they explain "It will be about 20. I'll turn the meter on and if it's less than 20, ill charge you that; if it goes over, ill just charge you 20." If they know you are a tourist, they tell you all about the history and sights you pass like a personal tour guide. It offers the same amazing food and theater options that New York would. I could go on forever about how much I love London.
P.S. remind me to tell you about waking up at 5:30 for our 6:30 flight.
