What are the main differences between Italy and the United States of America?

  1. POPULATION

    The United States counts over 324 million people which makes them the third most populous country in the world. On the contrary, Italy has 61 million inhabitants and thus is much less populated than its American counterpart.

  2. AREA

    Italy covers an area of 301,338 km2 which is nothing compared to the hugeness and vastity of the American soil. In fact, the United States covers an area of 9.8 million km2 and therefore is the world's fourth-largest country by total area.

  3. GOVERNMENT

    Different yet alike. The U.S. is a federal republic , which means that there is a division of powers between the federal government, and the government of the individual subdivisions. On the other hand, Italy is a republic which is organized with a form of government in which power resides in elected individuals representing the citizen body and government leaders exercise power according to the rule of law.
