Country

Country music has changed drastically since the beginning of it's time. Much of the twang is gone and the instruments used have changed a bit, but the basis is still the same. Country music will always remain a form of story telling. From George Strait to Dolly Parton, country music is a different form of expression but one that is very similar to pop. Recent artists such as Hunter Hayes and Jessie James Decker share upbeat and fun but also deep songs about love. Keith Urban uses his platform in country music to press social issues with his new song Female. Some country artists are very similar but others are very different. Many of the songs hold a lot of meaning and truth.

Thomas Rhett

Thomas Rhett is a newer artist who released his first album in 2013. It Goes Like This stands to be an album you can turn on and party to, sometimes sliding towards being on the verge of rock. Some songs do hold a surprising amount of emotional depth as well. His second album, Tangled Up, mixes country music with the stylings of hip hop, R&B, pop, and 80s funk. His latest album, Life Changes, is a fresh batch of feel-good songs about living in the moment. His song Marry Me is a tear jerker about loving and marrying a woman that doesn't want to marry him. This mixed in with more upbeat songs makes for his best album yet.
