Dress Transition from Summer to Fall

Dress Photo
DRESSES AND SWEATERS!!! My two favorite things to wear are dresses and sweaters. With the transition into fall season, putting these two pieces together is the most amazing combination. Here are some fun tips I love and do with this combo!
  • A sweater with slits is really cute so the dress peaks out farther up on the sides.
  • Play around with flowy vs tight. For example: flowy sweater + flowy dress, flowy sweater + tight dress, tight sweater + tight dress.
  • Also play around with the length of the dress and sweater! For example: short sweater + short dress, short sweater + long dress, long sweater + long dress.
  • Mix and match fun colors, patterns, and textures! Experimenting with combinations drives my passion for style and fashion. What is fashion without creativity?! For example: stripes + polka dots, flannel + fuzzy, plaid + neon.
  • ALWAYS add a bold pair of boots, heels, sneakers, or sandals (depending on the weather of course)! And yes I said sneakers. This could include from a fun pair of high-top converse, to a white pair of Nike tennis shoes. (This could also mean wearing a sweater, dress, ripped jeans, and a white pair of Nike's, which brings you to a super cute and casual look that uses layering and accents to bring out style.)
  • If its colder, add tights or pants under the dress! Or even another sweater and LAYER LAYER LAYER!!!! Here you can also experiment with fabrics and style. Try leggings or leather, patterns or ripped jeans. You can even roll up the pants to the ankle and wear booties so they show.
  • If you go plain add some bold jewelry or a fun scarf or headband.
  • THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS!!! Experiment and get creative! We love inspiration as well so send us an email of your favorite dress or sweater look, we love hearing from you!

    How Yoga Changed My Life

    yoga Photo

Yoga is strong, beautiful, exhilarating, peaceful, meditating, athletic, fun, challenging... and it's life changing. Working with Lululemon and Ivivva, they have deeply introduced me to yoga and I am hooked. I am hooked on how good it makes me feel and how much stronger and happier I am. You learn so much about yourself and your body, where your mind wanders and how you can be your healthiest you. You would be surprised how much stretching, strengthening, posing, and meditating allows you to appreciate life and understand the body. It sounds crazy but I AM TELLING YOU I am truly changed because of yoga! Just after a couple classes I have never felt stronger. The poses work the muscles more then most exercises in the weight room because you have to also balance, hold the pose longer, repeat the pose again and again, and focus on your breathing patterns and state of mind. It takes a lot of body and brain power to advance in pose variations. IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE: you must realize you don't have to be flexible or young or strong to take a yoga class. Yoga is for everyone and anyone. You go at your own pace and everyone takes each pose individually different. It doesn't matter how young, old, weak, or strong you are, there is always a pose for you. I have taken classes where people will lay in child's pose the whole class because for them, that's what their body needed at the time. You should really try it. Many studios have a "first time free" deal. The main studio I go to is Just Be Yoga in Walnut Creek, CA. It is a small, cozy studio. Just Be is one room with a glass garage door facing outside towards a beautiful wooden deck. There are big, flowing white curtains that fall over the glass doors and during the morning classes you can see the sunset rise through the curtains over the deck. I could not describe in words how surreal it is. My favorite classes are the Vinyasa classes, which aren't terribly hot but adds enough heat to the room so you sweat a little more. BE A YOGI!

Learn to LOVE your body, mind and soul.

    Namaste ladies!

    XOXO

    Tuesday's in Huntington

    Huntington Photo

If you are ever near Huntington Beach on a Tuesday, try and make a trip downtown for their street fair from 5-9pm every week. It's so fun and there are a ton of cool shops worth walking in and out of. Especially my favorite vintage store American Vintage Clothing. There's food and tents and artwork and a whole lot of fun! The Huntington Beach Pier is right there too so its perfect to go grab some food, shop around, and walk down to the pier to enjoy a beautiful sunset. The bands and singers who come to showcase themselves are fun as well and many times you'll see a group of kids playing music together... quite inspiring. Talk about guts. I would never have been brave enough to sing or play an instrument as a 4th grader in front of a huge crowd of people, not a question about it! But really people if these kids can do it, so can we. Follow your dreams and don't let what other people think change who you are and what you love.

Some unique places and things to try downtown:

  • Bruxie, serves gourmet waffle sandwiches, YUM!
  • North Shore Poke Co., has amazing poke. A little pricey but worth it!
  • Primos Coffee, go try a CRONUT (croissant and donut combined). It will be one of the most amazing things you'll ever experience, seriously.
  • STAY TUNED!
