Baggage

SkyEurope Airlines allows strictly one piece of cabin baggage, which must not exceed the size of 55 x 40 x 20cm and it must be light enough for the passenger to place it safely in the overhead locker without any assistance. Should the size of the cabin baggage exceed the aforesaid limits, the baggage will be carried in the baggage hold, and it will be considered checked baggage.

Have your personal items with you at all times. 2nd cabin bag option now available on all flights from Amsterdam, for only €10 when booked online.

Each passenger, with the exception of infants, is allowed to check in up to 20kg of baggage subject to payment of a checked baggage fee per each piece of checked baggage per flight.

If you are travelling with checked baggage, you will be required to pay the applicable checked baggage fee for each piece of checked baggage per flight. A person can carry up to 5 pieces of checked baggage. Combined weight of all such checked baggage must not exceed 20kg. No pooling or sharing of baggage allowances is permitted, even within a party travelling on the same reservation.

For each kilogram exceeding the 20kg checked baggage allowance the passenger will be charged an excess baggage fee per each kilogram of overweight per flight. The maximum weight of any single piece of checked baggage is 32kg. Please see our Tariffs & Fees chart for full details.

Note: Passengers using SkyLink products shall pay the checked baggage fee only once.

Fees for checked baggage can be paid via SkyEurope's call centre, at the SkyEurope sales desks at each airport or via SkyEurope website www.skyeurope.com. SkyEurope recommends passengers to pay the checked baggage fees via SkyEurope website www.skyeurope.com. This way they will be able to take advantage of discounted rates.

Please note that for the following items of checked baggage a special baggage charge is always applicable, regardless of whether the passenger has used his/her free baggage allowance or not:

  • musical instruments
  • animals (AVIH)
  • arms and ammunitions
  • bicycles
  • diving equipment
  • golf equipment
  • skis and snow equipment
  • other sports equipment

Lost & Damaged Baggage

Should you discover any baggage irregularity (damage or loss) on your checked-in baggage please contact the Lost & Found Office at the airport upon your arrival. Lost & Found agent will issue the Property Irregularity Report of the damage reported. You must at all times present your boarding pass and luggage tag.
The passenger must make a report at the Lost & Found Office immediately after he/she discovers any irregularity. Reports made later are not accepted.

Baggage claims must be in writing only (claims in electronic form are not taken into consideration during settlements and are not considered as a claim made to the carrier). Claims for damaged baggage must be made in writing within 7 days, for delayed baggage within 21 days from the date baggage received.
Claims for lost baggage must be made in writing after the 21 days of tracing period expires, however no later than 2 years from the date of arrival.
