Introduction

Who has ever thought about having a personal instrument collection in his or her room, composed by a classic guitar, an acoustic guitar, a ukulele, a guitalele, a piano keyboard, and so on? I thought it was no possible until my father gave me a basic piano for Christmas many years ago. After a year of musical practice, I become interested in playing my mother's classic guitar as well, I have bought an acoustic guitar, a guitalele, I gave for myself a ukulele for Christmas, I have bought a Violin, and so on. You may ask me how is it possible, since those instrument seems to be very expensive? I think that if you are really interested in doing something, you have to look for instrument that manage either to satisfy your desire to play them, or the costs they demand you. In a world where everything is technology these instrument represent a link with the past, with the pleasure of sound coming from "natural things" like wood, with the simple pleasure of listening your own non-technological music! What do all these musical instrument have in common? They are Chordophones, that are simple wood-made instruments, which, despite their semplicity, can can procude a wonderful sound.
