I took this photo as I was landing in Dubai for my layover from Spokane, Washington to Cairo, Egypt. I was about to spend my Christmas vacation at home, and couldn't wait to see my friends and family. This was actually the first time I'd be back in Dubai since my last high school football tournament in 2012, so I was excited to be in the airport once again. Though several years had the airport still represented a source of familiarity.
