Aloo Bhotta

Ingredients:

  1. 2 Big Potatoes
  2. 1/2 an onion
  3. 3 small chillis
  4. 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  5. Salt
  6. Rapeseed oil

Method:

  • Boil the potatoes in a a small pot with water.
  • To see if the potatoes boiled, stick a toothpick in the potatoes.
  • If the toothpick dips in smoothly, then the potatoes are boiled.
  • If they are stuck or do not go all the way in the middle, then they are not boiled properly.
  • Throw away the water from the pot.
  • Peel the skin off from the potatoes (Becareful of the heat. You can cool them down in the sink by leaving the cold water running.)
  • Smash the potatoes with a fork in a small bowl until all mooshy.
  • Dice the onion.
  • Chop the chillies.
  • Add them in the small bowl with the mashed potatoes.
  • Add salt.
  • Mix with the fork (To mix uniformly, use your hands. It might get a bit sticky with the potatoes but hey, it's fun! Especially if stressed out!)
  • Add a teaspoon of rapeseed oil. (if too much is added, it will get to your heaad. Just like drinking too much coca-cola quickly...)
  • Mix again.
