Pasta Genovese is a principal pasta of Naples and an important part of its
culinary history, having been introduced to the city in the 15th or 16th centuries. Genovese is
generally categorized as a non-tomato ragù, much like Bolognese. It's very yummy!
Gnocchi Alla Sorrentina is a dish from Campania, widespread in Italy and abroad.
It is prepared with tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil. It is an incredible Italian comfort food dish
made with soft and light potato gnocchi
Sfogliatelle are palm-sized pastries traditionally filled
with a ricotta cheese mixture flavored with citrus and spices. Pastries in Naples are dangerously good,
especially the sfogliatella which was created in Campania hundreds of years ago.
In Naples they call this coffee cream caffe del nonno, or grandfather's coffee.
It's a shaken coffee with sugar and generous amounts of cream, best served cold on a summer day.
Lemon Delight, or Delizia al Limone, is synonymous with the Amalfi Coast.
These mini sponge cakes filled and coated with lemon custard were created in 1978.
