Lena Maderer

Hi! I'm Lena, the creator of this platform. I am a student at John Cabot University with the goal to provide mental health support that is inclusive and accessible for all. I believe everyone deserves healing without barriers - especially those whose issues are often simplified and overheard.

Growing up, I saw how many people struggled to find safe, non-judgmental spaces to talk about their mental health. This platform is my way of collecting resources, ideas, and tools that I wish more people had access to.

Healing Without Barriers is about intersectionality, inclusion, and empathy. Therapy shouldn't be a place where you have to try to make someone understand your struggles, especially when it comes to experiences related to your gender identity, race, sexuality etc. A majority of institutions in Europe and the US tend to hire a mjority of white cis gender therapists, and while it is hard to tend to everyone's unqiue needs, it is not too much to ask to offer therapists that make non-white or queer students feel more welcome too.
