Gamla Stan is one of the largest and best preserved medieval city centers
in Europe, and one of the foremost attractions in Stockholm.
This is where Stockholm was founded in 1252.
The Stockholm subway system is said to be the world's longest art exhibit - 110 kilometers long.
One hundred stations, each with unique art on its platform, walls or waiting hall.

The Vasa ship capsized and sank in Stockholm in 1628.
After 333 years on the sea bed the mighty warship was salvaged
and the voyage could continue.
Today Vasa is the world's best preserved
17th century ship and the most visited museum in Scandinavia.
The City Hall is famous for its grand ceremonial halls and
unique pieces of art. The 106 meter tall tower has the three crowns,
which is the Swedish national coat of arms, at its apex.
It is the venue of the Nobel Prize banquet held on 10 December every year,
and it houses offices for 300 people including the City Council.
