GUIDE TO BROOKLYN AND MANHATTAN
in the Summer

New York City in the summer is incredible. So much fun.

The weather is hotter and there are more people, but there are definitely ways to have a great time.

If you are thinking about visiting New York I would say come for the summer! But be ready for go to the water at the beach to cool down.

You will hopefully enjoy it.


Brooklyn and Manhattan have a lot to offer in the summer.
Some may even argue that there is an overwhelming amount of things to do.

There are a million parks to visit, a million attractions, and a million spots you just don't want to miss.

Some touristy spots may be the ones you leaning towards, but let me tell you now.

As a local New Yorker the summer heat and bussiness during the peak tourist season is not easy.

So, instead I will recommend some spots I often visit.

Don't get me wrong, some are definitely well known and perhaps a bit touristy.

But, neverthless, they are worth it.


LET US BEGIN!
FIRST, I WILL GIVE YOU SOME LOVELY PARK SPOTS TO ENJOY SOME SHADE, BREEZE, OR EVEN WATER DURING THE HOTTER SEASON:

Some may be more of a treck to get to than others (depending where you are staying),
therefore, let us make a little key.

1. Prospect Park *
FAVORITE THING:

- Playing frisbee

- Having a picnic

- Walking through the fields

- During the summers they also have SUMMER STAGE performances (they are INCREDIBLE - and free!)


2. Mccaren Park *
FAVORITE THING:

- Barbequeing

- Dancing in the field with a DJ

- Farmer's market every Saturday

- SUCH good cookies

- Watching the skateboarders do really cool tricks

- In the summer there is a free, big, public pool called Mccaren Park Pool!

- they also have a beach volleyball court in there


3. Riverside Park **
FAVORITE THING:

- Watching Sunset

- Walking along the waterside

- Exploring the sprinklers

- Seeing all the cool dogs

- Running down the grass hills

4. Domino Park *
FAVORITE THING:

- Meeting with friends to see sunset

- Running through sprinklers

- Walking along the top walk way

- Laying on the wooden beach lounge chairs

5. Brooklyn Bridge Park *


FAVORITE THING:

- There are SO many amazing reccomendations and cool things to visit at this park

So, let us begin:

- There are incredible views of Manhattan from EVERYWHERE at all times of day

- There are many piers that all have something different to offer

One is a soccer field,

One is a very lushy grass field perfect for picnics,

One is a basketball court,

One is a playground,

One is a roller skating rink,

One is a mini water park

They have a lot of amazing restaurants along the water

And there's a NYC Ferry (boat) stop in DUMBO - although be careful because, besides the morning, the lines are long for the boat
