"Only a life lived for others is worth living" - Albert Einstein

How everything started

Sri Lanka is an island country in South Asia, located soultheast of India and northeast of the Maldives. A group of high school students, part of the international school in Rome named St. Stephens decided to create a change. Everything started thanks to Lakni Abeysinghe, a Sri Lankan student at St. Stevens that wanted to create a change in her own country after seeing it with her own eyes. Poverty in Sri Lanka is a large problem. This country has also been the most malaria affected country in the 20th century.

Two schools became the objective: The Hostel in Galle (NSS) and Unawatuna Pre School. They are both situated on the southwestern tip of Sri Lanka, in Galle a major city. The first one is a very poor hostel with blind, death and disabled kids, while the second one is a pre school hit by the Earthquake that took place in Sri Lanka in 2011.

Objectives

We are looking forward to reconstruct all the classrooms for both schools, offering them all the right tools for having an adequate educations such as books, boards, colors ect. We accept all used but plausable clothing for then giving it to the children in the hostel. The reconstruction of water pipes, finding volunteers for teaching english to the kids for making them have a better future and many other ideas. We hope to have a good numbers of vounteers for making this happen.
