Oktoberfest in Munich

Flixbus

We decided to take a 17 hour flixbus from Rome to Munich. 4 of us took a taxi to the flixbus station. We left too late and we were going to be 10 minutes late to the bus. 2 of our friends were on the bus and were trying to get the bus to not leave. The bus eventually had to leave but as it was leaving our taxi drove past it and we flagged down the bus. So, the trip got off to a good start with us barely making the bus.

Air bnb

When we arrived at the airbnb, the host welcomed us in and made us coffee and tea. We then took naps and rested for a little bit before heading to the festival. While we were there, our host was on her computer in the kitchen. When our last friend was showering, she started shouting to ask us how to work the shower. Our airbnb host came out and yelled at us in German for what felt like 5 minutes. There was already tension in the group so now having this common enemy brought the group together and got the trip back on track.

First Day

On the first day we started in a random tent. We ordered beers and played a game where if you looked at someone, they had to take a drink. We played this game until everyone had finished their beers. We then quickly went to the HofbrÀuhaus tent. We got some beers and hung out with each other. We then found other Notre Dame students and hung out in the Notre Dame section for a while. At the end of the night, we had to bring Fife home. This proved to be a challenge but after about an hour and a half we had it back. Christina was still walking around for another 4 hours.

The Fight

On our second day at oktoberfest, we sat across from a group of 5 German 18 year olds. We first talked to them normally and were pretty friendly with them. Then, one of their friends wanted to get into their row so they shoved everyone down and two of our friends were knocked off their seats. This led to a big argument and nearly a fight. After almost getting into a fight with them, one of our friends went and got the security guard to go kick them out. We never heard from them again.
