Venice

Arrival

Before we went to Venice, we were in Como for a couple days. The train from Como to Venice was very annoying. We had to take a train to Milan where we had a small layover. Then we had to stop at another place to switch trains, which we almost missed. Finally we arrived in Venice and stepped out of the train station and saw the water was out of this world. We then had to do a scavenger hunt and go over a small bridge to get into our airbnb.

Architecture

The Architecture in the city was very impressive. We went to the main bride and it was incredible. Fife is an engineer and he was blown away by the design of the city. There were so many unique buildings that were very different from the ones that are in Rome. The fact that it was built on water and is a combination of a lot of little islands makes it even more interesting. I definitely understand why this is a place that many people want to see. It was one of the more unique places that I have been.

Guggenheim

Along with walking around the city, we went to the Peggy Guggenheim Museum. I have never really been to a modern art museum before so I was very interested to see what it was all about. A lot of the pieces went over my head but it was still very interesting to see what other people really enjoyed about them. There was also a temporary exhibition which was very interesting and the quotes that were in there made me think about art in a new way. Also the sculpture of the roaring lion was a highlight of my trip

Kitchen Bed

When we first arrived at our airbnb, we immediately saw a bed in the kitchen. Christina immediately called out that she wanted that bed and I was shocked because I thought it would be the worst bed. To my surprise, it was awesome. When we were all hanging out in the kitchen last night, they were so comfortable the whole time and I was jealous. It was so great that the rest of us all went to bed and it became a very fun night. I would highly recommend a kitchen bed to anyone.
