Three Simple Photography Hacks

Shoot Through Things

Many professional photographers use this technique to give a dreamy look to their pictures. You can either use objects, such as flowers, to frame your main picture or you can use them to create a colored hue in one of the corners of your pictures. Photographer Brandon Woelfel often uses this technique in his pictures. Here you can see two of his photos in which he uses both flowers to frame his main subject and add a soft colored hue.

Water Reflection

Another interesting hack is to use puddles or water surfaces to create amazing pictures. You just need to lower your camera to the level of the water surface and click. you will obtain an amazing picture of a building or a landscape reflected on a water surface. Below you can see two examples of reflections made using a puddle. you can also get more creative, as in the second example and rotate your picture so that the reflection is up and the real image is down.

Light Reflection

Professional photographers use colored panels to reflect light. For example, if the scene is too dark they use a white panel to illuminate the face of the subject (if they're taking a portrait). You can create a similar effect without any professional panel just by using a white paper. Angle your paper so that the light reflects on the subject's face and your dark photograph will be lighter without the aid of photoshop! In the pictures below you can see how professional reflecting panels look like.
