Vienna, Austria

The Kunsthistoriches museum, built during the height of Imperial Austria during the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I (View from the Maria Theresa square)

The Kunsthistoriches museum, built during the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth of Austria, most known as "Sissi" is a museum that houses the imperial habsburg art variating from the period of the Roman Empire, towards the Baroque eras.

This is one of my favorite parts of Vienna, since through a single museum, it showcases how the Imperial Hapbsburgs cared about the preservation of history and culture. I reccomend going to this part of Vienna since it is close to the Imperial Hofburg Palace which is the symbol of Vienna during the Imperial period. As a plus, this area transforms to a magical wonderland during the annual christmas market which begins at the end of november every year.

Monument to Empress Maria Theresa of the Austrian Empire, the mother of Queen Marie-Antoniette of the Royaume du France, and one of the victims of the Reign of Terror.

This is a statue that depicts the Austrian Empress, Maria Theresa. She is known in history as the mother of Queen Marie-Antoniette of the Royaume du France. For Austria, She was the founder of the Theresianum, one of Vienna's oldest military academies.

She is a fascinating figure to read about and one of my favorite historical figures since she ruled the imperial throne of Austria by herself and set an example for future empresses. She comissioned one of Vienna's iconic landmarks, the palace of Schonnbrunn to which today is a magnificent palace that connotes the hapsburg legacy.
