Southern rock
It is a subgenre of rock music and a genre of Americana.
It developed in the Southern United States from rock and roll, country music, and blues, and is focused generally on electric guitar and vocals.
Although the origin of the term Southern rock is unknown,
many people feel that these important contributors to the development of rock and roll have been minimized in rock's history.
Blues
Blues is a music genre and musical form which was originated in the Deep South of the United States
around the 1870s by African Americans from roots in African musical traditions,
spirituals, and the folk music of white Americans of European heritage.
Blues incorporated spirituals, work songs, field hollers, shouts, chants, and rhymed simple narrative ballads.
Alternative rock
is a style of rock music that emerged from the independent music underground of the 1980s and became widely popular in the 1990s.
In this instance, the word "alternative" refers to the genre's distinction from mainstream rock music.
The term's original meaning was broader, referring to a generation of musicians unified
by their collective debt to either the musical style or simply the independent,
DIY ethos of punk rock, which in the late 1970s laid the groundwork for alternative music.
Country
Country music also called hillbilly music,
is a genre of popular music that originated in the southern United States in the early 1920s.
It takes its roots from genres such as folk music (especially Appalachian folk and Western music) and blues.
Country music often consists of ballads and dance tunes with generally simple forms, folk lyrics,
and harmonies mostly accompanied by string instruments such as banjos,
electric and acoustic guitars, steel guitars (such as pedal steels and dobros), and fiddles as well as harmonicas.
