Glass Box

Hello, everybody! Feelin' good? I hope so. I did so many necklaces throughout past few weeks, that I started to miss some old good stuff. I had to make a birthday present, for a person who travels a lot, adores culture, art and collect precious books. While I was thinking about the proper motive for my new craft, I thought of one word - the adventurer. I started to look for a decoupage paper which matches my vision and then... the journey began.

Firstly, the zoom on the box's lid. Although at the beginning it was completely transparent (it's actually obvious as it was made of glass but trust me, nothing is sure in my atelier), I decided to cover it up almost completely with a picture of a vintage balloon in white and blue stripes. I decided to make it a little more shabby, so I wanted to put the kind of old map of the sky, with some retro writing etc., in left bottom corner. The left top corner is transparent, however, I also added some glue to make it look more vintage.

On the lid's left side I adjusted cute, realistically-looking, little objects - brown flying goggles, silver propeller and gold-coloured goggles.

ANow, let's move a little bit more on a side - the sides of the box are left transparent. However, I decided to add some cracks on the sides of them - that is to say, I wanted it to look really vintage and retro.

Here is the inside - I didn't want to leave it untouched, so I went for another motive of balloons, however more into ecru, brown and gold colors.

I do hope you like it - okay, I'm really happy with the final version and I think you can agree!
Have a great day,
