1998 Japanese Promo Silver 2nd-2nd Tournament #2 Trophy Pikachu
Sold for $444,000 in September 2023.

Only 14 copies of the Pikachu No.2 Silver trophy card are known to exist. These cards were distributed to to second-place winners in two of the Pokemon TCG's first tournaments.

1999 First Edition Shadowless Holographic Charizard #4
Sold for $420,000 in March 2022

While a number of first-edition cards from the Pokemon TCG's early days are worth some money if they are in good condition. This specific edition of the holographic Charizards is one of the rarest and most expensive Pokemon cards ever released. There was a printing error that showed a lack of shawdow underneath Charizard. Most of these errors were fixed, leaving this mistake card one of the most expensive cards to exist.

This Pokémon card depicts the founder and current president of the Pokémon Company, Tsunekazu Ishihara. This card was given to the staff of the company as a birthday party favor in 2017 for his 60th birthday.
