How to Submit a Piece to The Matthew

  1. Pick a topic you care about!
    Art, Music, Politics, World Events, Personal Reflections, Sports, Movies, Poetry, Cooking — we want to hear your voice.
  2. Write it out.
    Suggested word count: 1000–1500 words. Don’t stress about perfection — our editors will work with you to polish your piece. We’re here to help you grow as a writer.
  3. Send your submission via email:

    (Deadline: July 1st)
  4. The editing process begins.
    Editors review submissions, suggest edits, and prepare your work for publication on our website:

  5. We publish your piece!
    Once finalized, your article will be live on our platform and shared with the JCU community and beyond.

How We Edit

Every submission is reviewed by a dedicated editor who will provide constructive feedback and help refine your piece before it goes live. Our Editor-in-Chief and club supervisors give final approval before publication.

If you notice any issues or typos after your article is published, just reach out — we’ll do our best to make the necessary updates on our website.
