My Throwing Experience

I did not start throwing until my junior year in high school when I went to see my brother at track practice one lazy april afternoon. The throwing coach invited me to try a couple throws and I never looked back. I fell in love with both the discus and shotput throw, although I had more success with the discus the remaining years in high school. My senior year, I lost only 1 meet within my league, won the league championship, finished 8th in the State championships, and broke my school record for both Shotput and Discus throw. Unfortunately, I could not throw Hammer beacuse the School cage was not equipped. Below is the picture featured in the local paper about my school record-breaking throw and a picture of myself getting ready to compete in a meet last year.

I took a year off, not by choice, my freshman year of college due to a nasty knee injury I acquired playing soccer. In January 2012, after about 7 months of Physical rehab for both my knee and shoulder, and a hard period of winter preperation for explosive strength, I was finally cleared to set foot in the throwing circle again and began to compete with Polisportiva S.S. Lazio in Rome. In March I won the FIDAL Lazio regional Indoor Shotput Championship. I have a few meets coming up in May including May 19th and 20th where I will throw Hammer and Discus.
