Located at the feet of the Sangre de Cristos, otherwise known as the southern end of the Rocky Mountains, is Taos, New Mexico. It is a small network of communities totaling in 30,000 inhabitants, stretched over a vast array of landscape and area. There is great food, great music, and fabulous outdoor activities, such as skiing, hiking, white water rafting, and rock-climbing.
Due to its secluded nature, Taos requires some effort to get to. Either fly into Albuquerue, a 2.5 hours drive south, or into Denver, Colorado, which is 6 hours north. Otherwise, many tourists enjoy visiting Taos as a stop on a roadtrip of the southwest.
