Cinque Terre
The Cinque Terre is a group of five little characteristic towns. They are: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. They form such a cultural heritage in their uniqueness that they are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site List since 1997. From 1999, they also form the National Park of the Cinque Terre, established to protect and promote the natural landscape. They are peculiarly unattainable by car. The only two ways to get there is either by train or by boat. Corniglia is, among all, the only one that stands on a promontory and does not have direct access to the sea.
ACTIVITIES
There are two paths which connect the towns one another. The most famous one is the "Sentiero Azzurro", the Blue Path, which connects Levanto to Porto Venere, and passes through the Cinque Terre. In the trait from Manarola to Riomaggiore the path takes the name of "Via dell'Amore", the path of love.
