FRIED RICE

Fried rice is an Asian dish; flavorful and versatile made by stir-frying cooked rice with vegetables, eggs, and a choice of protein (such as chicken, shrimp, or tofu). It’s typically seasoned with soy sauce, garlic, and other spices, making it a quick, delicious meal or side dish.

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the garlic and mixed vegetables, and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Push the vegetables to one side of the pan and pour the beaten eggs into the other side. Scramble the eggs until fully cooked.
  5. Add the chilled rice to the pan, breaking up any clumps with a spatula. Stir to combine with the vegetables and eggs.
  6. Pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil, stirring to coat the rice evenly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Continue stir-frying for another 2-3 minutes until everything is well mixed and heated through.
  8. Optionally, garnish with chopped green onions before serving. Enjoy!
