Directions

  1. Bring the water/milk to a boil in a medium pot. Add the oats and salt and reduce the heat to medium-low. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 15 to 20 minutes, or until thickened. Stir in the sweetner of choice (mashed banana/applesauce/honey) if desired. Stir in a pinch of cinnamon, nutmeg, and/or cardamom, if desired. Remove from heat and let stand for two minutes. Serve hot or let it cool for a while
  2. Top with sliced bananas, blueberries, strawberries, shredded coconut, peanut butter, if desired.
